I got half way through, then my attention wandered and I closed the book for good. There is much historical detail in the story. Somehow there was a sense of impending sadness and doom throughout, and I felt myself wishing for something lighter to read.

Another solid historical fiction book by Anya Seton. Very well researched history of the Jacobites and their rebellous ways. I especally liked the story line when they traveled to Virginia in the early 1700s. Jenny and her father are strong well written characters. Lots to learn from this novel.
