This was much better than the first book in the series but you kinda need to read the first to identify with the characters. Loved it and was sorry to read the end knowing the next one doesn't come out until November. Can't wait to read more.

Finished this book in a few hours. Was a nailbiter. Lots of action and a few unansered questions. I Will be buying The Devil's Due in a few weeks.

I enjoyed this second book of the Morgan Kingsley series. This girl really likes to use a taser. There are some things I just don't get, like why doesn't she ever at least TRY to have her demon removed, and a few other logical story presumptions, but maybe Black will get to them in her next books, which I look forward to reading.

I like this series but it's different. Not for everyone.

Okay the book was good I guess. I though the first was pretty good so I tried this and while I finished it, because I always finish books I start, it was trying. I can't get into a book where I hate the "heroine". I love the premise of these books but I won't be reading anymore because like I said, Morgan is just so whiney and snarky and not at all likeable.

Set a few weeks after Book 1. Now that things have calmed down a bit the people (and demons) that worked so hard to keep Morgan (and her uninvited passenger, Lugh) alive are starting to investigate some mysteries that arose during the previous book. Like how Lugh's brother, Raphael, knew that Lugh wouldn't be able to control Morgan the way most demons control those they posses. This leads Morgan to start asking questions about her past, something she's not entirely happy about.

This 2nd book scales back on the sex and violence quite a bit, which will make it more comfortable for some people. The story is all right, but the plot seems less like a story in and of itself, and more like a story to move the characters to the right spot for the next book.

The main character, Morgan, is a bit less combative with everyone than she was in the first book. Not that she's any easier to get along with, but at least this time she doesn't try to get any of her allies arrested. However, both she and her sometimes boyfriend, Brian, don't always behave consistently, which is annoying.

To make up for the disappointing plot and main character, the cast of supporting characters - Lugh, Raphael, Andy, Dominic and Adam - are interesting enough, and well written. I'll keep reading the series because of the supporting cast and not the main character.
