This was a decent book. Yolanda Joe (pen name Ardella Garland) has written books that were a lot better than this one such as the Falling Leaves of Ivy. The plot was decent but underdeveloped as were the main characters. This author has and can do a lot better.
Beautiful copy, Excellent and well done mystery. The City of Chicago is the setting. The city is in the midst of gang violence. After a drive by shooting, reporter Georgia Barnett is at the scene. She interviews a young child who can give a description of the shooter. A few days later, the child disappears. Georgia works with the police, media and family to get the child returned before it is too late. Being a reporter is half of being at the right place at the right time, and having the right connections. For this story, Georgia has these opportunities. She also has the interest of the Det. Doug which helps her out a lot. Ms (Joe) Garland, did a good job in keeping the reader in suspense. The story had the same humor as her other works. The action was steady, exciting and at some parts funny. Very realistic.
