Started out quite interesting but quickly fell apart for me. I'm not a fan of mean-spirited men thinking the worst of their women. But, the "cursing" is certainly worth some laughs!

Devine has written a steamy story as usual. I like her writing. This book was good but enjoyed her others better. Might be because I felt it was far fetched at times? Still a good story if your a fan of hers as I am.

From the back cover...

Alexander Deveney, the Earl of Mere, was on an undercover mission to ferret out out secrets from his deceased brother's wife, an enemy to Queen and country, and a courtesan available to any man for a price. He fully expected the raven-haired, dark-eyed beauty to use her feminine wiles to entrap him. And he was willing to be beguiled--for the case. Besides, two could certainly play at that game.

Francesia Reay was a beautiful and impoverished artist, a far cry from conniving seductress Alexander Deveney thought she was. but she continued the charade to learn the truth about Alex and his shocking accusations, tempting the dashing earl until she herself succumbed to rapturous desire. As Francesca discovers family secrets, unexpected betrayals, and a deeply passionate love, she must walk a fine line between disaster and deceit...
