This book was wild. The love scenes were stirring, and the plot was so way out, it sounded like an old movie/Shakespearean role-switching extravaganza. The setting is the French Revolution, which is hardly humorous, but this book was full of humor. I have never read a romance quite like this-- the heroine is brave, the hero is almost disregarded in the beginning, although I knew his identity only 1/4 of the way through it. It's sort of a Zorro plot (although not quite that either), in which the characters are hiding their identities by day and emerging at night seeking justice as well as profit. It's a complete fantasy, but that's why it's so much fun.

Originally published in paperback in 1987, this popular romance finds love between a male and female buccaneer in the wake of the French Revolution.
This book was set during the French revolution and was very action packed. Even though this is an older historical romance ,the action and adventure is worth the read. Loved this book.
Very dramatic. Nice plot twist.

They called him the Black Mephisto. Notorious spy and mysterious master of disguise, the black-masked bandit of the seas, only he can mathch Genevieve exploit for exploit, sword thrust for sword thrust, as he dares to rescue the innocent from the guillotine. Only he can awaken her sleeping senses with the softest, most seductive caresses till she is burning with liquid fire beyond passion, and the sweet prisoner of desire in disguise."
