An excellent book. There's a lot of complicated characters in this strange tale, all starting with a snowball being thrown in rural Canada. After that, you won't be able to put this down, since the main cast traipses around the world and you go with them. A nice long read, something to last a week or two at least. Also a dash of a 'mystery' plot too, but it's not a mystery book. The first novel I've gotten absorbed in for a very long time.

Take this book (or any other book by RDavies)if you are planning to spend several years on a deserted tropical island, and you will never be bored.
