This is my first Richard North Patterson book, and I really enjoyed it. However, it is not an easy read, by that I mean not one that you can read quickly. It is very indepth and involved, the story-line is complex and makes you concentrate. But if you like involved courtroom stories, this book is for you. I plan to read more of this author.

"Degree of Guilt" is a page turning legal thriller. Mr. Patterson manages to weave legal procedures into a gripping story that leaves the reader neither confused nor bored...This is one book you won't be able to put it down.
A good courtroom drama novel. A female television reporter is accused of killing a famous author that she claims attempted to rape her. She relies on a man she was with 15 years earlier that is raising their child to defend her even though she has not been truthful with him about what actually happened.
Excellent drama and plot building.
