Good story, which leads me to question who wrote the #2 book (Deserter) in this series. Books #1 and #3 are so different from #2, that I have to wonder why. Was #2 written by someone else, or did the author's editors have a nice, long chat with him about the really juvenile (infantile?) way he wrote #2? (See my review of #2 to understand why.)
Needless to say, I'm hoping book #4 is written in the same entertaining style as #1 and #3, as I already have #4. After I finish that one.....well, we'll see.

This story is amazing and really sad. Am looking forward to reading more of this series.
Third in the Kris Longknife series! Wardhaven has been left unprotected; it's up to Kris to do something about that! Another good book in the series.
