Deeper is a beautiful, haunting, and heart wrenching love story about lost love and second chances. Megan Hart's lyrical storytelling weaves Bess and Nick's story through glimpses of their brief, yet tumultuous summer affair that would have life long consequences and their second chance at love twenty years later.

For me Deeper is in the same tradition as great love stories such as Emily Brontes Wuthering Heights, where no obstacle can hinder their love, imperfect as it may be. This story has stayed with me since I finished reading it, and is not easily forgotten. It is everything that I have come to expect from a Megan Hart novel. If you have read at least one of her books I think you know what I am talking about, and if you have not then you are missing out on one of todays greatest romance writers. Though her romances do not generally have the traditional type of happily ever after her love stories (so much more than a romance) offer the hope of love; her endings are authentic and true to her characters.

I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK, and cant even begin to express my feelings for it. Even though I shed tears of grief for the life Bess and Nick could have shared, it had the perfect ending. Their depth of love was shown in every written word, from Besss willingness to sacrifice everything for her love for Nick, to Nicks final gesture of undying love, and finally to the glimmer of hope for Bess and Eddie. Deeper couldnt be anything other than what it is a great love story.

ps. for those of you who read Broken, Joe and Sadie make a very brief appearance and reveal their HEA :)

Excellent book from one of my favorite authors. I can't usually wait to get her books through PBS, I have to buy them new. This was so, so much more than an erotic romance. A bit of a departure for her into supernatural territory. I was really able to identify with the heroine, being close to her age and having had summer "loves" and let-downs during my college days. It was really great to read a romance about a woman in her 40s, instead of a twenty-something, although this was kind of both. You have to read it to get what I mean. It will be worth every dime and second you spend on it. I called in sick to work to finish this book!! Not quite the HEA I like to see, but she left the door wide open for me to believe that one was coming...

To sum things up, Nick and Bess's whole future could have been different if they would have confessed out loud how they really felt about each other from the start. This book had it's ups and downs for me but overall I enjoyed it. I wish that Nick was a little more loving and that Bess was a little more decisive. She was all over the place in what she wanted and Nick was a little cruel at times. The story wasn't that satisfying in the end and I wanted more to be said between them.

Darker Romance. Very emotional read. Not really a feel good book, but you need one of these once in awhile.

This was my first Megan Hart novel. I was deeply moved by this book. I cried alot and felt grief for Bess. This was a great read and I couldn't find myself able to put it down at all. I want to read another of her novels but don't know which to continue with. Any suggestions?? thanks.

This was a pleasant surprise. It actually had a plot and character development. The dialogue was even meaningful at points. There's still a lot of sex, but Bess, Nick, and Eddie are real people with believable personalities and problems that don't involve assassins, spies, or secret love children. So definately a cut above the usual fare.
