I love Lincoln Child books. I love it when he writes with Douglas Preston and when he writes on his own.
This book is particularly good and even thought provoking. Again there is the mystery and the very cutting edge of science. I am not a science geek so Child could easily put one over on me and i'd never know. It sounds so plausible to me.
A mysterious something is found in the Atlantic Ocean and of course the military is the one to go and retrieve it. There is an uneasy alliance of the best scientists the US can muster and military oversight. I loved the main character and his outsiders point of view showing us the bubble. I loved the big reveals and all the various peoples.
Really great stuff. If you like techno-futuristic type of thrillers. Science and out of this world stuff. This is a can not miss.

A fairly good read. I usually enjoy this author a great deal. However, the plot-line in this book is quite weak, and doesn't come together until the last few pages, and then still very weakly.

First read "Mount Dragon," co-authored by Lincoln Child, which is quite good. This one is a solo effort and just as good. Similar to "The Abyss" and a couple of other undersea thrillers, but there's an intelligence to this one that takes you away from the similarities. Good plot, good characters, and he's an excellent writer of descriptive action. I recommend it.

Great book by one of my favorite authors. Scientist gets recruited to go down to a dig in the ocean that goes to the center of the earth. What is down there? Although sometimes he gets alittle too wordy in places its all in all a great book. Fast read! You will enjoy the adventure.

A thriller set deep in the ocean's crust. I liked some of the characters, but most seemed stereotypical and shallowly drawn. The premise was interesting, somewhat. Hard to say too much without giving the story away. I am lukewarm about the book because for most of the pages it lacked energy, and never really hooked me.

Another fantastic read by Lincoln Child. Scary in that the inside look at the military and "secret" operations that take precedence over human safety seems all too realistic. I also enjoy the unknown elements that his books go into, sometimes way beyond the realm of reality, and other times like this one, maybe a little too close. Recommend it highly.

Peter Crane, a former naval doctor, faces the challenge of his career when he investigates a mysterious illness that has broken out on a North Atlantic oil rig. Sworn to secrecy, Crane is transported from the rig to an amazing undersea habitat run by the military that's apparently pursuing evidence that Atlantis exists. Psychotic episodes among the scientific staff as well as the activities of a saboteur that threatens the project's safety keep Crane busy, even as some of the staff members confront him with concerns that exploring the Earth's core could be fatal to all life on earth. Crisp writing energizes a familiar plot, which builds to an unsettling climax with echoes of Child and Preston's The Ice Limit.

There is a strange serious of medical ailments going through the employees at n oil rig. However, twhen Dr. Crane arrives he is taken to the depths of the ocean to help explore the greatest civilization of history. Excellent and exciting read.
This was the first book I read by Lincoln Child and I really liked it. It's style kept me interested, It had enough adventure ( which often translates to violence in so many books) to be thrilling without being over-the-top. Having read the blurb on the back of the book, I pre-supposed it would go in one direction, was pleasantly surprised when that turned and unexpected corner...and then another plot twist delighted me. I rate it high just because i didn't expect where it went. The only thing I didn't like was the religious implications of the plot which would basically deny the existense of God, as i am a believing Christian). Not that the book touts any religious beliefs, it's just that the Sci-Fi aspect of it, in my mind, cannot be reconciled to a belief in God.
Like a bad action flick. It's engrossing and draws you in despite yourself.

Lincoln Child is an exceptional writer. His stories are never the same. But there are always an element of surprise and something unusual. This book is about an deep sea discovery and what happens as people attempt to reach it.
I stayed up several hours past my bed time to finish this one, 'cause I just couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next!

Good read i would recoment it
I was pleasantly surprised. This was a fun and thought-provoking book. I will look for more from Lincoln Child. Mixture of science, sci-fi and thriller.

What a GREAT book. Well worth your time
Lincoln Child does it again. This is a fast-paced thriller in which an oil-drilling platform becomes the site of an underwater mystery. The US government, a herd of scientists, and a few black ops guys are thrown together into an underwater research facility to learn what is down there. Dr. Peter Crane is called in to diagnose a strange illness that is spreading through the faculty. There is a mad rush to solve the medical mystery while a possible saboteur is at work to stop the facility's work. What's down there with them? Who's is trying to shut down the facility? Why? This book is hard to put down. Some of the questions aren't answered until the very last page. Or are they?
P.s. I'm not sure why this called âDeep Stormâ (Jeremy Logan Book 1) since there isn't a character in the book by that name.

Ehh... this was another book recommended based on my love of Frank Schatzing's_The Swarm_ - and while there are some similarities, nothing of the good of that book made it into this one. Maybe because it was a lot more masculine...I'm not really sure.I think I mostly didn't like it because it turned out NOT to be about Atlantis, like it was set up to be from the beginning. Also, there were some holes in the plot. I'm going to give this one to my dad to read because I think he'll enjoy it.
