Georgia magistrate MacLaren Yarbough can not escape solving a crime and naming the identity of a killer even if she goes to Scotland!! Joe Riddley decides to send her on a great tour vacation to visit the small town in Scotland her ancestors come from for a couple of reasons: 1 - to get her away from all this dangerous mystery solving, and 2 - so he and his sons can take the grandsons deep sea fishing in Florida without feeling guilty about leaving his wife at home. At least one of these reasons starts to fall apart even before MacLaren takes off from the airport. This 6th installment of the Thouroughly Southern Mysteries is as great a read as 1-5. Wonderful plot lines, characters and dry humor. A definite winner in my book for cozy mysteries!

Georgia Magistrate MacLaren Yarbrough didn't plan to go to Scotland, and she certainly didn't plan to go without her husband, and she really didn't plan to become involved in another murder. These things happen, however, and she and her fellow tour members are both victims and suspects. Lots of atmosphere and great characters.

Love this series, but this is not my favorite. The setting is Scotland, not Hopemore, GA, so Mac's family, friends, even the noxious police chief are missing. Maclaren and Laura MacDonald are on a genological tour of Scotland, or they thought they were, until most of the others on the tour seem to have nefarious reasons for coming. When one of the tourists is found dead, Mac is deep in the mystery, despite promises made at home to Joe Riddley, her spouse. The book is very good even though I saw the killer from early on in the book. Enough other things were shadowed in mystery to make it fun. I did miss Mac's hubby, kids, grands, and the other inhabitants of Hopemore. (Hopemore must be a lot like Cabot Cove. For a small town, it has a HUGE murder rate! :) )

This is the first book in this series that I read. It is very well written and kept me guessing all the way through. Just when I thought I knew who the killer was a new twist was introduced.

Patricia has done it again. MacLaren is smack dab in the middle of another mystery in Scotland this time. While trying to find relatives on this trip that Joe Riddley gets for her, she once again gets tangled up in murder and mayhem.
