Similar in plot to her other titles of this period, such as Scandal. This one, though, takes place more through the POV of the hero, as opposed to the heroine.

Typical Quick. A heroine whose intellect has made her unaware of her feminine side until it is awakened by, in this case,Viscount Chillhurst masquerading as the tutor hired by her uncle to teach the nephews she has taken under her wings. Add a lost treasure and a few villains... a good light read...

An interesting romance that blends the study of ancient legends with a love story. Olympia Wingfield devotes herself to her one true passion: the study of ancient legends and long lost treasure. However, she is now in charge of 3 bratty nephews and has little time for her passion. The a handsome stranger walks into her library and sets her world right again. Soon she learns that he is not a lowly tutor but a rich earl with a wealth of money and secrets.
Great fun books with excellent women characters. Love how the women have vision and can think for themselves. A great read.
This one like all her others was worth the read.
I liked the story and at the same time just a bit disappointed. I had high hopes for Olympia and Jared. I love her distractedness with the real world. And her concern for her three nephews. And her loyalty to her aunts. Jared's cool, collected intensity when going after what he wants is a great foil for Olympia. They do make a great couple. The mystery of the lost treasure added much to the story so I was disappointed to see it left unsolved at the end. Jared wouldn't take Olympia into society, he didn't think to give her jewelry. The least he could do would be to take her and the boys on the grand adventure of her life to the West Indies. Now THAT would have been romantic.
This book was fantastic. Righty up my alley. Great romance, crime, drama.
Very good. Hero is out to find a treasure map, only the heroine has it.
Another great AQ book. Strong women characters and intrique always go well together, fast paced storyline with lots of unexpected turns.
A fun, easy Regency-era read.
Olympia Wingfield, alone and vaguely raising three lively young nephews, is glad to hire on as tutor one Jared Ryder--who's not about to reveal that he's a viscount. Jared impresses the intellectual ``spinster'' of 25: ``From his long wind-whipped black hair and velvet eyepatch to the dagger he wore...he was an awe- inspiring sight.'' Jared's real mission is to purchase a secret diary purported to point to a West Indian treasure--a diary that the studious Olympia is deciphering, unaware of its import--but, meanwhile, as part of the household, he disciplines the soon-to-be- devoted boys (and their dogs); runs villains to ground; carries on his own shipping business on the sly; and soon, of course, becomes smitten with Olympia.
Hero might remind you of Johnny Depp's Cpt. Jack Sparrow.
Quick has provided an inviting little world of warmth, adventure, mystery, bouncy sex, and a (never oppressive) Regency setting. Amid subplots that flutter around and about like Olympia's chemisette, there's also jolly sex--during which both partners have a wonderful time. A featherlight, warmhearted fantasy with lots besides bedroom frolics going on.
This isn't really 'a pirate romance' - it's a cute story about the descendants of a pirate still searching for the whereabouts of some treasure.

The book is a little slower than most of Amanda Quick's books, but it was still a good read.
Very interesting book. Not your typical plot or family in this book.
I enjoyed this one.
Not ordinarily a romance reader, I found this an interesting and entertaining story with likeable characters, including some young boys, plus some treasure hunting, and of course, romance.
in England the lover she thinks is a school teacher is a pirate and also a future earl. Besides falling in love, they go looking for a secret fortune
I love anything by Amanda Quick!
Loved the storyline of this book, that i steh ancient legend rather than the romance between Olympia and Jared.
Olympia Wingfield, an old maid at twenty five, was saddled with raising her motherless hellion nephews, though the lovely bluestocking preferred spending every spare minute pursuing her true passion the study of ancient legends and unearthing clues to long lost treasure. Between trying to control a mob of unruly youngsters and fend off an overly attentive neighbor whose interest was far from scholarly; the absentminded beauty was having a most chaotic day. Cornered in her own library before she could manage to extricate herself from the cad's clutches, she found herself unexpectedly rescued..by a glorious stranger who was the embodiment of her most exotic dreams
From the rear cover: "Once Olympia Wingfield had been free to devote all her time to her true passion: the study of ancient legends and long-lost treasure. But now, with three hellion nephews to raise, the absentminded beauty has very little time for research. Which makes it seem all the more serendipitous when a handsome stranger strides into Olympia's library unannounced and proceeds to set her world to rights...
Tall and dark, with long windswept black hair, Jared Chillhurst is the embodiment of Olympia's most exotic dreams...a daring pirate, masquerading in teacher's garb, whose plundering kisses and traveler's tales quickly win her heart. Yet all too soon innocent Olympia will discover that the enigmatic and wickedly sensual Mr. Chillhurst is no lowly tutor but a future earl with a wealth of secrets-the kind that will lead them both on a perilous quest for a hidden fortune and a love worth more than gold."
