Happy December! Last month to get those books read in 2024. I had set a goal of 50 at the beginning of the year. I think I'm going to fall a bit short, but I've read more books this year than I have in years. I'm currently reading The Rhino Keeper, which is okay, A little dull to be honest. I should finish it up this evening. I'm listening to The Briar Club by Kate Quinn, which is really good so far. If you guys didn't notice, Carolyn (bless her heart) posted the 2025 HF Challenge, and once again she has come up with something fun and clever. Hip, hip, hurray for Carolyn!!! Hello! I finished The Rhino Keeper. Eh. Pretty boring, although I knew nothing about the Dutch sea captain who traveled Europe with a tame rhino. LOL! I'm about halfway through listening to The Briar Club, which I am enjoying, and I started reading The Booklover's Library by Madeline Martin the other evening. |

I finished We Three Queens (Royal Spyness, Bk 18) by Rhys Bowen 12/10 Love this series. This one set 1936 around Edward VIII |

Finishing A Treacherous Curse (Veronica Speedwell, Bk 3) by Deanna Raybourn. Slow moving but worked my way to the end Much of this novel is predictable. The ending picked up but I still think that perhaps it's time for an author change. Last Edited on: 12/16/24 6:22 AM ET - Total times edited: 3 |

Hello! I finished listening to The Briar Club by Kate Quinn, which was really good. My current listen is Eleanore of Avignon by Elizabeth DeLozier. Still reading The Booklover's Library, which, truth be told, is a little dull. |

I finished The Booklover's Library which was okay. Cute, but fairly dull until the last quarter or so. I think I will start The Women by Kristin Hannah this evening. I'm enjoying listening to Eleanore of Avignon. |

I finally finished the Poldark series! The last book was Bella Poldark, and if anyone is ever interested in reading this series in the future, I can tell you unequivically that you DO NOT need to read Bella Poldark! It annoyed me how bad it was, how useless the story was to the overall arc of the series. I kept thinking it would get better, but honestly nothing happened in 600+ pages. Ugh, Anyway, I started Go Tell The Bees That I Am Gone by Diana Gabaldon. It's been on my shelf for a while, but now that the new season started I've delved back into the Outlander world. This is a 900+ page whopper, so this will definitely carry me into the new year.... CR |
