MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!!!! I hope today is a good one for you all.

I'm at 239.8 this morning but I'm praying that's the highest I'll ever see it get again. Margaret, you and I are neck to neck once more.

Heather, you're doing great staying within the 2 lb. comfort zone.

239.4 this morning, and I ate more sugar than usual. Hopefully that's why I have a headache and it's not a BP thing... I'll know soon, if the measuring device can be trusted.

off to eat well soon, and I'm going to eat everything I want from the buffet, but watch portions, maybe only a taste of some things. And I'm not going to care about salt since there won't be nutrition labels! It's one day of the year! And I won't eat much the rest of the day, maybe a bowl of oatmeal.

Turned out that the food at the buffet was good, but not great, so I had second helpings of... nothing, and I had kept my first helpings small to allow me to decide what I liked. Mom did serve pie at her house.

i didn't feel like making an effort to prep food last night so I had cereal and a protein bar.

today scale says 238.6

You did good Margaret. I love going to a buffet. Thankfully there are currently none close by.

I'm 236.8 today, so slowly heading back down again.

I can understand that, Margaret. That was one thing I made sure I didn't buy. But I do have pizza in the freezer and I bought some cookies, so will have to be careful with those. I'm 235.2 today.

I'm 235.4 today so I lost 1.4 lbs. for the week.

This week I plan to eat very small meals each day, but eating more protein and less carbs.

Starting in January I intend to focus on eating healthier and getting in more movement in my day. I've become too much of a chair potato ( I don't own a couch, LOL! ), and I really need to start moving more. I don't really trust myself to do much walking outside because I get too winded too fast and my back tightens up, so I'll work on moving more indoors. I have my exercise bike and stretch band and I can do chair exercises when need be. But I will start moving more. But I don't want to focus on my weight, just on getting healthier. I will post my weight once a month on the 1st of each month for the group ( I'll still be weighing daily or weekly, just not posting it), and see what kind of progress I make. And over the next few days I'm going to think of what streaks I can do to help myself on a daily basis.

Hopefully the scale likes it!

I walked from church to Mom's because I was expecting the parking to be full, and it was. About a 20 minute walk.

we ate at the brunch there. I got a big plate, yum. Eggs and sausage and potatoes and cottage cheese. But I used to get a second plate of roast beef and shrimp and I skipped that.

Rode with my brother and sil toward basketball game, but we had to park far from the arena, about a 20 minute walk. After game, walked to church to get back to my car, about 30 minutes. It's been awhile since I walked that far!

Up to 202. That same 5 pounds keeps yo-yoing. I'm glad the holidays will be over soon.

Margaret, you did get in a bit of walking. No way could I have walked that much. My back wouldn't have allowed it.

Teri, isn't it frustrating when you yo-yo like that?! I know it always wants to be at the wrong side when I need it to be on the lower end, myself.

I'm still 235.4 today.

I've been trying to think of what foods I could eat on a regular basis that's good for me but inexpensive as well. And I'm thinking my best bet is to stock up on dried beans and fix those in my crock pot. Beans are a good source of protein and low in fat, and it keeps you full feeling longer, or at least it does for me. And I like most any kind of bean so I can buy a variety and be happy with that. Of course I'll add a few other things but I think in January that's going to be my main source of protein and see what happens.

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE!!!

Hope this last day of 2024 ends well for you and tomorrow starts a new year with purpose.

I'm ending out the year at 236.6, which for the year is a 15.9 lb. loss from Dec. 31-2023. I'm really hoping to do better in 2025, but time will tell. The most important thing is to not give up and to keep trying, to do your best daily.

I'll set up the 2025 forum in a few minutes, so don't forget to follow me on over to it tomorrow.
