Alfred Bester, arguably the most brilliant Science Fiction writer ever, delves into the borderlands where Fantasy and Science Fiction start to blur in this amazing masterpiece of intrigue and human behavior. A must read for any true fan of science fiction.

One of Bester's less-known works for good reason. Still has his slick, jazzy patois and his machine-gun pacing, but the slipshod plot makes it difficult and unrewarding to follow. Also, The Deceivers periodically lapses into a troglodytic '50s racism/sexism/homophobia that even readers not typically bothered by this sort of thing will find distracting. Read The Computer Connection instead.
