Hurray! Everyone is back in Manhattan at the Village Blend again (which is where this series belongs) and bodies are dropping from the balconies. A new decaffeinated bean has been developed by an old friend of Matteo's and someone seems determined to stop it's launch. Some new faces join the familiar baristas, several personal plotlines are advanced for series fans and the trivia in this installment focuses on the cultivation and hybridization of coffee varieties. There was a tiny bit of cheating in late introduction of hints, but the pace and tone of the story was smooth enough that it was forgiveable.

Love this story line. Some nice twists.. Matt and Madame helping out this time and even Mike .. Can't wait till the next one!

I've read all of the coffee house mysteries so far and this was my least favorite. I had a hard time finishing this one; it just didn't have much going for it. The plot was weak and not very entertaining. I hope to find the next book "French Pressed" back up to par with the first four.

I have enjoyed the series and now looking to read book #8. Even if you do not like coffee, the writer and the characters keep you from putting down the book! Great read.

Bring on the coffee; at Clare's coffeehouse! Decaffeinated expresso? What a dream. Another book with romance between Clare and Mike, and her ex husband trying to get back into the picture. Throw in the Italian ex Mother in law for spice. Kept me intrigued until the end.

I really enjoyed this episode in Cleo Coyle's Coffee House Mystery series. Greenwich Village coffee house manager Claire Cosi finds herself investigating another tangled scheme when her business parter (and ex-husband) wants to introduce a botanically decaffeinated coffee at the village Blend. The intrigue mounts rapidly, making for another great story.

Still loving this series! I have spent the last week catching up on all of them, so they are fresh in my mind from one to the other. I am also learning more about coffee harvesting and coffee brewing, etc than I ever thought possible. Some of it is quite fascinating but it can weigh down the story sometimes.
This was my first Cleo Coyle book and I must say..I'll be back for more. It is a delightful read, nice pace.. characters are well flushed out.. the story line keeps moving. Lots of information about coffee, now I'm not a coffee drinker but that didn't stop me in fact, it was neat to learn about the different kinds, etc.

This has been one of my favorite series!!!
This is the fifth book in the coffee house mysteries. Each book is capable of standing on its own, but the series is very good. A couple new characters are introduced and things heat up between some of the major players. Clare and Detective Quinn are finally moving forward, as Matteo spends more time with his current rich selection in ladies. Clare worries about Joy, her daughter, a thread that I am sure will develope more in the next book in the series. Even Madame has found some folly within her relationships, at her ripe old age of 80.
Coyle is an author worth reading, even before you contemplate her coffee tips and receipes - different ones are included in each book.

These books you do not have to read in order to get the story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading all so far. The story is complex but easy to just hop into. But I have to say this lady Clare, LOL! She has seen her share of mystery and murder. Great book for even the teen readers!
