The detecting team of Doan McCandler, well-dressed gay detective-about-town and his gorgous partner Binky (she of the small trust fund and the constantly changing boyfriends) take on San Francisco's art scene when someone starts killing artists. As the irrepressible Doan says, "Taste, charm, and wit do not pay the rent...and it beats working a counter at Macy's."

This is a fun book and an interesting start to the series. I already began another one! Love Doan (wait til you find out how he got his name) and Binky. Doan is recruited to help an elderly, and very rich, friend who is getting a divorce. She pays him to travel around the world, putting papers that will incriminate her husband in some very shady dealings (and ultimately murder) into safety deposit boxes. Fun, games, and murder ensue.
