In the last book, a new Shinigami was introduced. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed that little story arc didn't really go anywhere. The rest of the story continues to be very good, but it seemed to drag just a bit -- I suspect out of necessity to build up to what's coming in the next few books -- which I fortunately have and will no doubt be reading by the end of the day...
