Interesting premise, but the story was a bit confusing. I had to keep checking to remember which character was which. The book was also too long (372 pages)--the events could have unfolded much more quickly and the book been half as long. A good first effort by the author.I will probably read more in this series because I did like the characters well enough by the end of the story to want to find out what happens next.

First in a new series, this one features Erin Gilbert and her interior designing rival Steve Sullivan. This story was kind of a take off on 'Trading Spaces', with the heroine decorating 1 room and her rival decorating another. Then, of course, someone gets murdered and she has to figure out who did it.

Good book - very enjoyable, especially if you like to watch the design shows on HGTV. First of a new series.

When I found this series, I was pretty excited about the concept, but for me, this book lagged in some key places - making it hard to stay awake to read. Hopefully number 2 in the series will have a faster pace and easier readability.

I was disappointed with this book. But I will give the author the benefit of the doubt, as it appears to be her debut.

a nice cosy read
a new series by Lesie O'Kane (of the "fax" series and the "dog series") in her new persona of Leslie Caine
a easy, fun, read and even has a (non sleuthing, normal) cat in it.

I really liked the story line but I found it to be a bit redundant.

Leslie Caine combines three of my favorite topics to read about: a little bit of a love story, a little bit of interior design and a whole LOT of murder!! LOL

Erin Gilbert, an interior designer, takes on a new client, only to find out that she's competing against her arch rival, Steve Sullivan.

Their contest sets off an uproar in the neighborhood. Erin finally finds out who her biological parents are, Gilbert & Sullivan might actually learn to get along, and several people in the neighborhood are murdered.

Fast, interesting read!

Erin Gilbert was headed to a lovely neighborhood to engage in a friendly little design contest with her nearest and less-than-dearest competitor Steve Sullivan. But somewhere between her faux wall finish and her cuastom window treatments, Erin discovers that a killer has created this designing job just for her.

Erin Gilbert, an interior designer, has been hired to design a bedroom in competition with her arch-rival Steve Sullivan, who will be doing a room in a house across the street. Once they have begun, the murder of one of the homeowners begins to reveal secrets among the families, including Erin's own birth parents.

Fun start to a new series. A little like Trading Spaces.
