Somewhere in th Australian outback, on the land left to her by a late relative she never met, American photographer Erin Windsor beleives a diamond mine might be waiting with its promised yield of millions of dollars in raw gems. But the old man took its location with him to the grave. And Erin's not the only one in the hunt, though she's easily the least ruthless...and most vulnerable. Blood will stain the trail to a precious, well-hidden secret, and she must turn to Cole Blackburn for help or face the killing night alone. A geologist and a walking mystery with ties to the power forces that are now Erin's enemies, Cole is a dangerous man to trust, but she has no choice. Because life is too short to throw away your dreams, no matter how treacherous the pursuit of them might be.

"An earlier version of this book was titled "The Diamond Tiger" and came out in 1993 under the name Ann Maxwell."
The back doesn't specifically say that she did or did not update the book. She does say "I decided to revisit the novel because I loved it and hoped my new readers would as well." Just wanted to point this out.

I was a little leary of this book. I had never heard of the author - the book was a gift in my stocking from my mother. I am pleasantly surprised that she picked out a good book. It has it all - thrills, romance, a good read - and an easy read.

A story that combines elements of danger, greed, trust, secrets, passion and death in ELizabeth Lowell's spell binding style.
Originally titled 'The Diamond Tiger', this a fascinating look at both the diamond trade and western Australia. In the beginning it seems a compilation of disparate parts but comes together midway to "can't put it down" cohesion.
This is a great story full of heart-pounding adventure, lies, secrets and love in a land far from America.
Pretty good read.
definitely worth the time spent reading. not too deep, yet very entertaining.
adventure in the Autralian outback, complete with diamond mines. first time i read this author, and i thoroughly enjoyed the book. an easy read.
Very good book! I love Elizabeth Lowell.
An earlier version of this book was entitled the Diamond Tiger and came out in 1993. An interesting plot about diamond mines in Australia.
Wow...I really liked this book!! I am one of the few women I know who doesn't really care about diamonds or traveling but after reading this book, I want a beautiful diamond and I'd like to take a trip to Australia too!! Very well written to!
Danger, greed, secrets, and passion, along with the diamond trade industry unfolds a story of suspenseful romance. Blood and death stains the trail to a well hidden secret.......
A gorgeous guy and a search of the lost diamond mine.. what more does a girl need?
Book is missing it's jacket, but the rest of the book is in great condition.
Sometimes,if your very lucky, u can go home again. An earlier version of this book was titled THE DIAMOND TIGER and came out in 1993 under the name Ann Maxwell. When my present publisher offered me the opportunity of going back to the novel under the name Elzabeth Lowell,I admit that i hesitated, In the years since first publication, the diamond trade has changed so greatly that it would be impossible to update the facts in the book without destroying the very story that had compelled me to write in the first place... But like the diamond trade, my stlye of telling a story has also changed over the years. I decided to revisit the novel because I loved it and hoped my new readers would as well. DEATH IS FOREVER is my favorite kind of story, combining elements of danger, greed, trust, secrets, passions, and death.. Enjoy
