Somewhere in th Australian outback, on the land left to her by a late relative she never met, American photographer Erin Windsor beleives a diamond mine might be waiting with its promised yield of millions of dollars in raw gems. But the old man took its location with him to the grave. And Erin's not the only one in the hunt, though she's easily the least ruthless...and most vulnerable. Blood will stain the trail to a precious, well-hidden secret, and she must turn to Cole Blackburn for help or face the killing night alone. A geologist and a walking mystery with ties to the power forces that are now Erin's enemies, Cole is a dangerous man to trust, but she has no choice. Because life is too short to throw away your dreams, no matter how treacherous the pursuit of them might be.

I was a little leary of this book. I had never heard of the author - the book was a gift in my stocking from my mother. I am pleasantly surprised that she picked out a good book. It has it all - thrills, romance, a good read - and an easy read.

"An earlier version of this book was titled "The Diamond Tiger" and came out in 1993 under the name Ann Maxwell."
The back doesn't specifically say that she did or did not update the book. She does say "I decided to revisit the novel because I loved it and hoped my new readers would as well." Just wanted to point this out.

A story that combines elements of danger, greed, trust, secrets, passion and death in ELizabeth Lowell's spell binding style.
