First book I've read by this author. I ended up liking the book and its quirky characters like Haley Haley and Big Bad Bob. There did seem to be more "book" than "story". All in all, it was OK>
great mystery with just a touch of humor.

Tori Miracle, reporter and former New Yorker, hasn't exactly made a great impression in Lickin Creek. She's been blamed for the historical society fire, the death of the town's only doctor, the death of a senator, and the absence of the town's former police chief, Garnet, among other things.
Now that her editor is back on the job, Tori is reduced to part-time reporter. When Alice-Ann, her best friend, asks her to write the copy for the annual Lickin Creek house tour, Tori reluctantly agrees. But in the process of examining one of the houses, Tori and Alice-Ann stumble upon a skeleton. To save the house tour, Alice-Ann talks Tori into keeping the skeleton a secret until the tour is over. But the skeleton disappears and Tori becomes the victim of a series of seemingly unrelated mishaps. Is she paranoid, as Alice-Ann suggests, or is there a connection with the skeleton? But there is little time to investigate--an escaped convict may be heading to Lickin Creek to get even with his wife, Tori is being stalked by an unknown person, and she hasn't heard from Garnet since January.
You will like Tori's satirical reactions to the townspeople as she continues to find her niche in Lickin Creek. And after reading this book, you can't help but wonder what will happen next

The body turns out to be tht of a groom forty years late for his own wedding. But where is th bride? The couple, Rodney Mellon and Emily Rakestraw, both teachers at the local high school, disappeared four decades earlier - presumably eloping. What ended this fatal attraction, and whatare members of th community so desperate to hide? Tori unovers a crime ofperverse secrets that must be kept hidden at any cost, and unfortunately her own untimely demise.

Another fun installment in the adventures of Tori in the Pennsylvania town. The characters continue to develop and are fun, if wacky. All in all, I really enjoy this series, but I would recommend reading them in order. Each one does stand alone, but it's helpful to understanding character motivation when you've read the earlier stories.

Last of the Tori Miracle series; I won't say I'm sorry for the series to end. It's a easy to read cozy series, each book has it's own flavor, bringing in history and knowledge of the small town Pennsylvania area. This one has vivid descriptions of stately historical homes on the annual home tour. Tori has the responsibility of writing the guidebook for the home tour and while checking out the homes for information for the guidebook; discovers two bodies; skeletons that is......
