Love all of Margaret Maron's books -- characters, plot, everything! So glad I had read most of her work before this one. The end of this one is, in my mind, a major departure from her other work. After reading the last line I sat there in shock for a minute or two. That is NOT to say it was bad, it made perfect sense, but part of my brain was muttering "you can't DO that". Really good, totally worth the read.
