Hamish ends up doing undercover work with a beautiful detective chief inspector - he manages to gain a huge victory but no love. Great story.

Hamish has to work with and falls for a woman police officer in this one. Another fun read. I've loved every one of these Macbeth books that I've read.
Fun cozy mystery series with a dry sense of humor. :)
Interesting plot. Hamish Macbeth usually stays in Scotland, but this case took him out of his beloved Lochdduch (pronounce Lock-doo). Understated humor and quirky characters.

Kind of a contrived plot for one of the MacBeth series, but enjoyable nonetheless.
Another great plot with Hamis now playing the part of an undercover officer who is supposed to be a drug lord! Unfortunately, Hamish has to work with an overbearing female superior. Hamish, along with the Det. Inspt olivia Chater, are almost killed when the cowardly, jealous Inspt Blair turns into a snitch. so much going on in this little book but Hamish get his man.
Fun, fast-paced mystery and, happily, no x-rated stuff.
Classic and unexpected at the same time.
Always enjoy a story about Hamish Macbeth. Entertaining, interesting characters.
