This is the first book in a laugh out loud series about a fiesty octogenarian and the eccentric members in her community in a small town in southern Illinois. If you are from a small town you will enjoy the somewhat exaggerated portrayals of the locals and their interactions with each other, and as always there is a little bit of truth in each parody.

Fun book in the style of Jan Karon, Philip Gulley and Lisa Samson. Thoroughly enjoyable!

I thought this might be a little too "sweet" and simplistic, but I found myself thoroughly entertained. I enjoyed the characters very much. In fact, I wasted no time in requesting, receiving the second book in the series and now am ready to go on to the third. It's a light read, very homey and comforting. Delightful!

Dorothy is the kind of friend everyone needs! Loved all the books in this series and didn't want it to end. My first impression was that Dorothy was a caricature, but she really "grew" on me and I found myself drawn into the lives of the various characters who people "Pardon-me-ville".

A light-hearted, quick-paced story about the residents of Partonville, IL, and an 87-year-old who keeps everyone on their toes. Cute and fun.
