This is fantastic book for anyone interested in childrens' literature or publishing. Nordstrom discovered Marice Sendak. She was the editor for Crosby Bonsall, Ruth Krauss, Russell Hoban, and Crocket Johnson. She published E.B. White and Laura Ingalls Wilder (not to say "edited" because she writes that she never made an editorial suggestion to either one). Nordstrom's letters to her writers and illustrators are very open and whimsical and well-worth reading. I rarely read non-fiction, and I couldn't put it down.
