A local woman disappears while jogging in a state park. When her body is found a week later, Detective Jennifer Brennan is working the case. As she investigates the murder, Jennifer becomes the target of the killer. Her father, Sheriff Tim Brennan, makes sure she has protection at all times and assigns Detective Blake Stone to stay glued to her side. Blake doesn't mind this assignment at all since he has been attracted to Jennifer since he first met her five years ago.

The third book in Alexa Grace's Deadly Trilogy is actually the best of the bunch. Jennifer is finally ready to move on from the awful things that happened to her five years ago (see book 2). Blake has been interested in Jennifer for a long time, but he never thought she would return his feelings. I liked both Jennifer and Blake and thought they fit well together. The killer in this book is truly scary. Even though we learn his identity early in the story, it didn't detract from the suspense.

My biggest problem with this book was that there were too many similarities to the previous stories in the series. And I had to laugh when the heroine even had the same TSTL moment in this book as the heroine in the last. I had to lower my overall rating because of lack of originality. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
