"When Jeannie Butkowski suddenly vanished, the front door of her house kicked off its hinges, her family had no doubt about who was responsible for her disappearance. His name was Pernell Jefferson. Eight months later, the young woman's charred remains were found in a dry creek bed in rural Virginia - a bullet lodged in the skull.

Police never even questioned Pernell. It would take the determination of a savvy county sheriff to bring this monster to justice"

Well written true crime. As a football fan, I enjoyed many of the football references (as the killer was a former football player). Perhaps someone not interested in football may find it less enjoyable, but in any case, it's well written and the storyline flows well.
