Just because you may have enjoyed the Sookie series does not necessarily mean you will be into Aurora Teagarden. Harris writes a quick entertaining read, although she gets a bit too descriptive on occassion.

I really enjoy the writing of Charlaine Harris and get a kick out of her outlook on life. Dead Over Heels was a great, fun, quick read. I like getting to know her characters and this book had a lot of development for Aurora and friends. Readily recommend to anyone who likes easy, breezy murder mysteries. Aurora doesn't disappoint!

This was my first Aurora "Roe" Teagarden mystery, and I really enjoyed it. Prior to this I had only read Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series. Roe is probably the only librarian to have a bodyguard (why she does is explained in events that I'm guessing took place in the series earlier novels) While her and her bodyguard Angel are mowing the lawn and tanning, the body of a police officer is dropped from a small plane right on Aurora's lawn! It turns out both women know the murder victim, and neither have good relationships with him.

This is a very pleasant, short mystery filled with well-drawn characters. I was able to guess the motive of the crimes but not the murderer, and the ending was a well-crafted surprise. If you want an enjoyable quick read with a mystery without much blood or sex that ends in a tidy manner, I recommend this book. I'm already on the hunt for the other books in this series, and I hope one day Harris decides to write her another adventure!

What's the world coming to - when you can't relax with an ice-cold beverage in your own backyard without a body falling from the sky and landing in your garden? Part-time librarian and frequent amateur investigator Roe Teagarden has good reason to ask herself this question when the remains of one of the Lawrenceton, Georgia police department's finest catapults into her flower bed one beautiful sunny morning. Roe's friend and bodyguard, the long-legged, bikini-clad Angel Youngblood, is mowing the grass and Roe is reclining on a lounger when a small red-and-white plane flies low overhead and drops its unlikely debris more or less at Roe's feet. Roe's husband of two years, wealthy businessman Martin Bartell, immediately wonders if the killer chose his dumping place to send some kind of message to Roe. And the mystery deepens when two federal agents arrive in town to investigate the murder. It's only when Madeleine the cat provides a clue that Roe and Martin realize Roe herself may be in danger and that using Roe's yard as a temporary landfill for dead bodies was no accident.

I love this series and it is well worth reading in order because so much is developed over the span of the series. This author is a keeper for me and I will buy anything she writes. I've had very little disappointment with her books.

I really love how Charlaine Harris has developed her characters so well in this series. I finish each book ready to pick up the next! I highly recommend this series for anyone who loves mysteries, but read them in order.

I enjoy this series, not as funny as Sookie or as dark as the grave site books, but quick reads. Roe is funny, little weird how many guys seem to be enamored with her when she was so desperately single before Martin but hey who am I to judge lol.

I just finished reading this complete series (8 books) and I feel Charlaine Harris did an excellent job with the characters, unexpected twists and plots. I often read an entire book in one setting so I could find out who did it and why!

I really enjoyed this mystery series. Like many other readers, I started searching for other Charlaine Harris novels after reading the Sookie Stackhouse series. I have read the Aurora Teagarden mysteries and Harper Connelly so far and I have to say, I really like Aurora Teagarden. She is a likable protagonist and its fun to watch her character grows throughout the series.

Book 5 was one of my favorites in the series. Perhaps its because Aurora's character really comes together. That and an amusing plot. In any case, this is a quick easy enjoyable read.

As always, Aurora Teagarden is fun. These are nice little "cotton candy for the brain" books. They don't require deep thought or attention, but are very entertaining and fun to read.

Book 5 in the Aurora Teagarden series is my least favorite so far. In book 5, Roe is married to Martin, living at the Julius House and working part-time as a librarian when the remains of Jack Burns, one of the Lawrenceton police department's finest catapults into her flower bed one beautiful sunny morning. Roe's friend and bodyguard, the long-legged, bikini-clad Angel Youngblood, is mowing the grass and Roe is reclining on a lounger when a small red-and-white plane flies low overhead and drops its unlikely debris more or less at Roe's feet.

Martin Bartell, immediately wonders if the killer chose his dumping place to send some kind of message to Roe, but Roe begins to think it's a message for Angel. The mystery deepens when two federal agents arrive in town to investigate the murder.

This became my least favorite book for a few reasons. 1.Arthur, who I've liked up until now becomes a total jerk. 2. Arthur and Lynn are split up- um hello- again when did that happen??? I like the stories of the murder, but I really like the characters and I'm feeling way to left out. Like there should be books or cliffs notes in between to tell me whats happened! 3.I don't like Angel. There's something weird about her, but Harris never goes into what. And even as the book ended I'm still sitting here thinking there was more to it. Was Angel preggers with Jack's baby? I just feel like this story never really came together and the murdered came out of nowhere. 4. I'm starting to dislike Martin. I liked Arthur much better. And where the heck is Robin? he just came and went. Harris has been really good about all of the characters but now- nada.

I LOVE this series.
Good engaging characters, smart dialogue, crafty plotting.
A good down home, SOUTHERN-style mystery.
Aurora's life moves forward at a fast pace.

I am a Harris fan and enjoy this series very much. I liked the character development in this entry but felt like the mystery was rushed and simplistic compared to the other books. I will keep reading to see what happens next.

Too much murder for a small town in Georgia, I'm surprised the residents haven't moved.
