Without reading about this book (because I liked so many of this author's Fortune books), I downloaded it and started reading it on a long trip. Yuck. I'm not into the paranormal at all. Given a choice, I would have found something better. However, I was stuck.

First, the story lacks the laugh-out-loud zaniness of the Fortune books. Instead, Zoe is a meteorologist behind the scenes who makes the on-air meteorologist look good with her hard work. She moved from Everlasting, Maine. as soon as possible and works in Los Angeles. But her quirky great aunt, Aund Esmeralda (better known as Sapphire), fell at home (in her lighthouse) and has been hospitalized.

Zoe rushes to her side, only to find that the heartthrob of her younger years, Dane Stanton, is now the contractor at her great-aunt's house. Dane and Zoe broke up over Zoe's ambition to be a tremendous on-air weathercaster. They have unsettled issues. Frankly, who cares? I didn't.

This story is a predictable romance without any snap. Cornelius, the lost ghost, is how the book progresses (through his insights).

I don't plan to continue the series. Different authors write the stories in this series. The only reason I finished this story was that I was driving and without another choice. This was a real disappointment. The only reason I rated this book this high is because of my bias against paranormal stories.
