From the back cover: "Harry Strega took brutality lessons in the army. Charley Flowers is the muscle behind Joe Zucco's mob. Neither one will ever make it to the world of fancy broads and cadillacs. But they don't know it yet.
In the meantime, they give an honest day's work. With the baseball bat, the fists, the knife. They leave behind an odor of sweat and fear, blood and torn flesh.
And when they have to, they kill."
From the inside cover: "DEAD CITY is a novel of terror and horror, detailing the fictional lives of a half-dozen representative Mafia types, from the soldier-hitman to the city racket bosses. If anyone still has a sentimental impression of the Mafia left over from THE GODFATHER, he will no longer have it after reading DEAD CITY....it leaves nothing, absolutely nothing, to the imagination."

Even though this book is over thirty five years old, it still seems as if it was written today. The story is about an organized crime "family" in New Jersey. There are graphic descriptions of violence.
