As a devoted fan of her Scumble River series, I really want to like this series but every book---this one especially, I just cannot get past the ridiculous premise of the two men fighting over her. While she sounds like a fabulous friend I cannot believe that these two men are fighting over her. Her inability to choose one or the other just frustrates me; their POVs just made me dislike this (major) thread even more. I appear to be in the minority but this is what bothered me about the Scumble River series too!
I agree that the mystery was very good and I didn't figure out 'who dunnit' until it was revealed, so that is always a good thing. The characters are well drawn--really like Poppy and Boone, although they weren't in this one as much; and the pace of the mystery was fast and exciting. Hopefully the next one will resolve this issue and let a relationship move forward.
