Daytime Drama
Author: Dave Benbow
Set in the outrageous world of daytime soaps, where amnesia victims usually have evil twins - but handsome leading men must keep their love for each other in the closet -- Dave Benbow's raucously sexy, wickedly funny debut novel lays bare the lust, greed, and ambition of Hollywood through the eyes of an innocent newcomer who wants it all...  more »

At twenty-eight, Clay Beasley is one of thousands of young, handsome actors trying to get that "big break" in L.A.. And he's getting close, with a gig as an extra on daytime TV's hottest soap opera,  Sunset Cove . Among the young and the restless of the Sunset Cove's cast, certain larger-then-life characters stand out. Like Jack Benz, a.k.a. Stone Coltrane, the hottest man in soaps, whose square jaw and full lips have launched a thousand housewives' fantasies, even though  his preferred fantasy involves rough trade with gorgeous young men. And Travis Church, the show's star bad boy. With this long, dark hair and mouthwatering physique, he's the one person on the set Clay would like to get to know much better.

But everything changes when Jack Benz meets a tragic end just before sweeps week. Suddenly, Clay has his chance at the role of the lifetime, pushed into the spotlight and possibly into danger -- because Jack's death was no accident... it was murder. Now, the set of daytime TV's hottest soap is nothing compared to the diva-drama going on behind the scenes...

OK, I will readily admit that I Loved This Book! It had a good mystery plot but also had great soap opera plots to- loved what was really going on behind the scenes at the soap set, much of it quite scandalous! Good little surprise tidbits dropped neatly throughout the book...and everything gets tied up quite nicely at the end.

This book is not for you if:
(a) you do not like sex scenes in a book- I do not and there were a few too many for my taste, but easy enough to overlook them
(b) you are anti-gay/do not like gay themes in a book...in which case, shame on you !
