Page turning but complicated, I feel like I can't really make up my mind until I read another book in what I assume is a series. There are "regular" humans, half human/half vampires (this is what the heroine is), "regular" vampires, daysiders (this is what the hero is) who are vampires that can withstand sunlight, and another kind of monster that some of the above may or may not become when attacked. Within each of these groups there are different political factions with different objectives. Even if you know which kind of being someone is, they can still be on different sides of an issue - kind of like it is in the real world! So, if you like your supernatural reads to involve some thought you may really like this one. If you're looking for an easy, breezy love story that just happens to have a vampire in it, consider taking a pass. (There may have been a prequel in the Holiday with a Vampire 4 anthology that might make everything make more sense. I have not read that book).
