The earth celebrates the birth of a newborn baby. Each child is special and this book stresses and invites the baby to join them.
It is also a reminder and introduction for the baby to the wonderful and magical world we live in.

This is a beautiful book. It's my favorite book to give as a baby gift. I cried the first time I read it, when I was pregnant with my son. It celebrates the arrival of a new human to this earth and recognizes our connection to creation and to each other.

This is one of the best books I had for my children.
From the insert: On the eve of your birth, word of your coming passed from animal to animal...and the marvelous news migrated worldwide.

Come across our round planet as the moon pulls, the tides rise, the rain falls, and then a baby is born. Join in Debra Frasier's celebration of our natural world as she extends a loving welcome to each member of our human family...including you!

A spiritual, but non-sectarian, celebration of earth's newest resident - baby. "Welcome to the spinning world" ... "Welcome to the green Earth" ... "We are so glad you've come!"
