Follow up to the engaging 'The White Mare'. Solid story, interesting take on the history, romantic tension, and a strong heroine. Good read for all those historical romance fiction readers out there. If you like Mists of Avalon, you'll probably enjoy this series.

Another reader described this series as between The Mists of Avalon and the Outlander. I agree. I enjoyed the books, and appreciated the writing which was vivid and very descriptive. I gave the first book to my daughter and she called to urge me to get this one in the mail so she could continue.
I am picky about my books - get bored with trials and the legal system, become exasperated with simple, badly worded, simplistic love stories, but really enjoy good writing. Jules Watson is a good writer.
