This book is a great way to get children to learn a little history about the 1920's and life in an orphanage. It is a little long for those 4th-5th graders but well worth it!

When his father dies, Dave doesn't know if anthing will ever be the same. And then Dave lands in the orphanage. It's a cold and strict home for boys. He thinks he will run away, but it might be difficult...but the other side looks so tempting.

Excellent Story

Touching...Beautifully Told
