I wouldn't pay much for this, but worth chasing down on PBS or in the library to read with a glass of wine. It's funny in spots, but often repetitive (always the same 6 types immortals - which they refer to as "undead" even though some, like werewolves, are simply living). And a painless way to check out Gena Showalter's universe if you haven't done so before, which I hadn't.

This book was funny to start with, but then it slowly got to be a bit repetitive and boring. I think if they had slimmed it down to an actual magazine size, it would have been good to go. The best stuff was the funny ads for all the undead products. I loved that stuff!

Be aware that while this format is a great idea and some of the content is funny, this is a magazine, not a book.

This would have been the perfect format for some new short stories from Showalter or any other paranormal writer. Instead we get a chapter from her first Lords of the Underworld series and two chapters from a book that (at the time of publication) wasn't even released yet. All for the outrageous list price of $16.95. Yikes!

I like Gena Showalter's books, but this is pretty much a promotional piece that is more expensive to the reader than if you just bought two of her books. Plus, you don't even get a full story out of it.

My rating is 2 stars only because the ads are funny and the twist on magazine-style articles is clever.

Oh my goodness! This is laugh-out loud hilarious! My favorite parts were the advertisements- think U.P.T. = Undead Pregnancy Test (so you know who or what you're having!). What I didn't care that much for? I realize she's one of the co-authors, but did we really need the Lord of the Underworld plugs? (yes, that's plural)

Not what I expected. It's like one of those star magazines that you pick up at the grocery store. The content is ok just not a book. I like Gena Showalter & Jill Monroe and they did try to make it interesting along the lines of what they write but I wouldn't have bought it.
