Interesting concepts about human genetics and evolution, and our attitudes about them. Presented as interestingly as a government memo. Dull and lifeless writing from beginning to end. I never cared about any of the characters, even the children, for which I feel guilty. Starts flat, and then finally fizzles out altogether.

Awesome, kinda frightening in a realistic sense...

Sequel to Darwin's Radio. 11 years after the leap of evolution where a new breed of children have been born.
Not as good as Darwin's Radio, however a good read

The next stage in evolution is certainly worth reading about. Great book.
This is the second Greg Bear book I have read... It is fantastic as is the first in the series "Darwin's Radio" also very good book keeps your attention and turning pages throughout... Excellent read I highly recommend.
Well...I liked the whole premise - what if evolution could happen in giant leaps? It's nice to have a follow-up to Darwin's Radio as you do wonder what happens to Stella, Kaye and Mitch. But this book is really, really slow. Bear has about five different POVs going in this story and the only one that isn't deadly dull is Stella's. It has to be hard to interject a lot of technical detail about viruses and make it interesting, and Bear doesn't manage it. And what was with that God thing near the end? Unnecessary plot complication.
I did not really enjoy the premis
