I liked this much better than the first one. Nastasya got on my nerves in Immortal Beloved but she's somewhat matured in Darkness Falls. Nastasya is really trying to become a better person but living on the farm and working at the drug store are really taking a toll on her psyche. No matter what she does, it is never enough and always seems to backfire. She is discouraged and disgusted with herself and her situation so when Incy appears out of nowhere, she gets right in the car with him and splits. I would have thought that after her frightening dreams of Incy's darkness, that she would have at least given it a second thought. She enjoys her time with her former immortal friends (Incy, Boz, Katy and Cicely) but she feels out of place and pines for Reyn and River's Edge. Hmmm maybe all those lessons at River's Edge were good for her after all.
I will definitely read the series conclusion since after reading two books in the series, I must know how it turns out.
