From the cover:
"Richard Young is looking forward to a quiet week with his wife and their daughter.Firing up the barbeque should be the most stressful task he'll face. He has no idea of the hell that awaits him, the nightmare that will begin with an insistant pounding at his door.
The stranger begging to be let in is being hunted. He is hunted not by a man or an animal, but by something that cannot be seen or heard, yet which has the power to crush and destroy anything in its path. It is a relentless, pounding force that has existed for centuries and has now been unleashed to terrify, to ravage...to kill."

The first 80 pages had me scratching my head with where in the world is this going?? But I kept on and it kicked in to a horrific chase across England to save the world!! Really neat take on "the gifts" of paranormal with a wee lil 4 year old girl vs. ???
Great first novel for me from Simon Clark. I like his style although I do admit he could have hacked off 50 pages and had a much tighter novel. Still very worth the read.
