I have forever been a dedicated fan of the Midnight Breed, each one has gotten better and better to me. And rumors have been circulating for some time that this could be the last book. And if it is, Adrian has finished up nicely. (But I don't think this is the end) Not only is this about Chase and Tavia, but it's about the war with Dragos. Chase has to come back from the edge of bloodlust and Tavia has just discovered she is not human....but Breed. A whole new kind of Breed. Half Gen One and half Breedmate. Their love story is not so much passionate, but one of overcoming a life no one wished for or expected. I enjoyed the "reality" of their storyline. We also get to see everyone again, and they all have a part to play. Adrian definitely spins things around with a new theory of where the Breedmates originated from, and the storyline as a whole must take a new route with Dragos finally defeated. The Breed are out in the open and the world must come to accept them and work together to co-exist in this new era. Where will Adrian take us next, all the couples are having children and building lives together. But if we have no enemy to fight, where will this series go??

Lara Adrian doesn't write pulse-pounding heart-stopping action or real brain-teasers. Her Breed series is pretty predictable & plods along at a nice steady pace.

However, her books ALWAYS leave me satisfied at the end--which says a lot! This book introduced some new twists & turns & characters that set "the Order" on a new path. It was a very nice way to transition from the old to the new.

This was a delightful story for Chase. I never felt it was too stale or boring, it kept moving forward just fast enough to keep me going. She'll never be as riveting a read as JR Ward, but I continue to enjoy her vampire genre nonetheless.

I really thought Adrian's Breed series was getting better and better but I had a hard time with this one. The beginning was rather redundant and slow. Chase, who used to be my favorite, was kind of annoying and made such bad decisions. Tavia was awesome though. Her character totally made senes. By the middle of the book the pace picked up. I wasn't that into the love story this time because Chase lost his sex appeal for me here. I actually enjoyed the battle with Drago more.

It would be interesting to see where this goes. I find it hard to believe that Adrian wouldn't want to continue with Nathan, Mira, and the younger generation. Plus they would have to help all the other special Breeds out there like Tavia.

Decent read. Not her best but definitely not her worse.

This is Sterling Chase's book, and a good addition to the series. I don't want to give anything away, but while some crises come to an end, new situations arise. The Breed/Rogue war has heated to the point of its climax. While fighting his bloodlust, Chase is also trying to redeem himself by continuing the fight against rogue's even if he's no longer a member of the Order. He's also gotten involved with a mysterious woman, who has powers that should be impossible. Their relationship seems a repeat of all the other bondings up to now, and comes off rather tired. While the romance doesn't do much for me, the plot is enough to make this worth reading.
