I wanted to like this book, I really did, but I couldn't get past the halfway point. Basically, you have to be prepared to read about every single thought the main character has, every single action she does. I found myself wondering why I should care what color her walls are or how she moves pictures around in the art gallery. Besides, the main character is rather unlikeable. She is so jaded and selfish that I had a hard time caring what happened to her. Ms. Turner blew me away with Suncatchers and Some Wildflower in My Heart, but she has worn this formula of "troubled woman finds God after many trials" completely out.

Good reading, light but meaningful. I have read several of Jamie Langston Turner's books and she always weaves good stories of people working through problems in life and how they come to the realization that their hope is in the Lord.

Her grandmother's funeral meant Celia Coleman must return to the small townshe had hoped never to see again. Bruce Healy is struggling with guilt over his own past. But when God lifts them each from their dark valleys of shame, their hearts could indeed be ready to give and receive love.
