I was interested in the story. It was one I had not heard before. The writer is a news reporter and the style was somewhat different than I expected. There were also some odd misses in the editing department, the type I usually see in e-books. I did enjoy reading the book, however. It's a quick read and could have been more than "good," given the subject and the times.

An arresting true crime story from one of history's most dramatic eras. London, 1942 - not only do citizens have to cope with blackouts, air raids, buzz bombs - but in one week in February, four women are murdered after the fashion of Jack the Ripper. Since Jack took months to accomplish four murders, this copycat-killer has accomplished no mean feat. Food for thought: while the War to End All Wars raged around them, Londoners had to Keep Calm and Carry On despite an upswing in violent crime. The author makes the unsettling observation that with bodies being dug out of rubble on a regular basis, who could really tell which were casualties of war and which were murder victims conveniently disposed of?
