Great book about the Amish community having to seek outside help to protect their children. A female police officer goes undercover with the Amish community in search of the ones attacking the children. One Amish member and herself fight their feelings for each other as well. A little bit of mystery and romance, the makings of a great book.

Sorry there is no cover posted on this book. Harper has a fantastic flair for suspense. A great story set in the Amish community. Good read.

Widower Luke Brand is a leader in the peaceful Amish community of Maplecreek. But now his people are under attack from unknown assailants and the main target appears to be the children. Although the community is reluctant to turn to the outside world for help, a particularly vicious assault leads Luke to the local police.

Policewoman Kat Lindley is running from the big-city job that nearly got her killed, and from the memories of the abused boy she failed to save. Now she agrees to undertake a dangerous masquerade within the Amish community, desperate to save Maplecreek's children.

Together Luke and Kat are determined to bring justice to the perpetrators, while struggling to suppress the unspoken and forbidden feelings growing between them. But when the case takes a deadly turn, Kat must race to uncover the menace that threatens the people she has grown to deeply respect before Luke becomes the next target.

This book was an interesting story, but I didn't like the fact that it seemed to not be proof-read very well. There were some mistakes throughout. I found this to be irritating, like it had been written in too much of a hurry and not checked for mistakes, or certain sections were edited and other sections were not changed to match up. So although it kept my interest as to the storyline, I can't recommend it to others because it was not very well written. There are many other good stories out there that are well written!

Ex-Policewoman goes undercover in Amish Community to find out who is responsible and stop the horrible hate crimes that are being committed. The twist and turns keep you turning the pages. The ending is an unexpected surprise.
Really enjoyable read.
