Dark Desires is a wonderful, sensual, thrilling Gothic romance. I'd forgotten how much I love this genre, until I read Eve's book!
It tells the story of a young, destitute woman who almost
falls victim to the murderer prowling the streets of White
chapel. But she escapes, and finds employment with a
handsome, yet strange doctor. The time they spend
together becomes wrought with sexual tension. However,
when she sees him leave his lab covered in blood, she
begins to wonder if perhaps she hadn't gotten so far away
from the killer afterall.
Oohh...I get goosebumps just reading that! This is a
great read to curl under the covers with on some lonely,
stormy night.

Eve is my new favorite gothic author. This story is dark and mysterious, but has an awesome hero with incredibly hot sex scenes. I couldn't put it down.

Interesting take on gothic literature, complete with madness, ghosts, murder, and a damsel in distress. While I like gothic literature, this particular heroine tended to get on my nerves as she was easily frightened (even though she thought she was strong), fell to her knees, gapsed, fainted, etc. at the slightest provocation. Her innocence became quite cloying after a while. However, the mystery was well written and Silver really knows her medical stuff. For that, and her sometimes playful use of language, I'll definitely keep reading her works.

It was okay. I liked the atmosphere of the book and the two characters but didn't like the end.

This is a gothic romance loosely based on the Jack the Ripper murders. I thought there was a little too much description and we were in the heroine's head too much, but I guess that is typical of gothics. I would have preferred more dialogue. But the book was an easy read and did hold my interest. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

The "mystery" of the hero could have been done better, but still a good read.
a very Gothic sometimes morbid Love story. I didn't think I'd like it at first, but found I really got into the story line.
She is a new author for me but I read about her on the AAR message board. I thought the book was really good - B+.
Very good twist on the Jack the Ripper tale. Great book, great plot, good timing, and hard to put down.
