I enjoyed the first in this series, but found this book had very shallow characterizations, and stilted dialog. People just don't talk to each other like that. Not to mention the herione seems remarkably unaffected by the death of her Father.(Happens in the prolouge, so not a spoiler) Not the best paranormal out there by a long shot, and with the market flooded with them, I'll pass on the rest of the series.

I enjoyed this book as much as the first one. I really liked Blake in the first book, and was looking forward learning more about him in this one. I was glad to see him finding a mate, and am looking forward to reading more of this series.

Characters weren't great, but they were ok. I found it entertaining, but not as deep or dark as I usually like.

This is the second installment of the Paladins of Darkness series. I wasn't too impressed with the first one because I felt like I didn't really have a handle about world that she built in her book. With this one, I felt like my questions were answered. I know what a Paladin is, and more about the others - the world makes more sense.
The main characters in this book are Brenna and Blake - the chemistry between them was great and steamy. Blake is trying to protect Brenna from the assassins who killed her father. She has no knowledge of the Paladins and her father's secret life - so protecting her is easier said than done. The storyline feeds into the main one for the series of trying to find out who has betrayed the Paladins (from within the organization).
I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next one.

This book was slightly better than the first one. I find the writing style to be very simplistic. There is no depth as far as the characters or the world building are concerned. The author makes it hard for me to care about anything that is happening in the story. There was a better explanation of what the Paladins and Others are, but it was too little, too late to keep my interest. This is a very bland series that I will not be continuing.
GOOD book. I ordered all the rest in the seres

From the back: As a Paladin warrior, Blake Trahern fights and dies again and again to keep mankind safe from the Others. Sensing his humanity slipping away with each battle, he retreats from the world until the one person who still has a claim on his soul needs his help.
