I haven't really read the other Carpathians novels, and I liked this one...but by the end it was like any loose ends were just tied up with a sentence. After the details had been so great early on, it was a little weird for some things to just easily be taken care of. Nicholas was great, but there were times when Lara was just whiny. She got stronger, but it seemed like she allowed her weaknesses to rule her when it was easier to pull away from Nicholas. Overall I enjoyed it, but I can get picky sometimes :)

I didn't really enjoy this book. The constant ice cave scenes were so boring; I really had to force myself not to skip ahead. And Lara, ugh! I just kept getting really annoyed with her and her behavior. Overall I didnot like this book. I did however like how they brought alot of the characters from the previous books into the story, but it was not enough to save it. I liked Nicolas, he seemed to be a good man and lifemate, but Lara was not the right match for him. I could not work up any sympathy, empathy, or like for her.
