This book just wasn't for me and I gave up after half a dozen or so chapters! I guess I am too much of a Jane Austen purist to be able to enjoy the very modern take on this story. The time in history that this story took place was a very lusty time, but I found the whole Kama Sutra premise very jarring, and out of place is this story -- but hey, that's just my take on it...

I enjoyed this book. Though it wasn't the "proper" for this time period. Some parts i can emagine that darcy & elizabth were like and others are a little far out there. the same with jane and bingley. I did find parts that i laughed at. I am glad to see that someone has written them so they are not always proper. I always imagined darcy & elizabthe were more relaxed at home and with each other.
I have read other spin offs and some are good others i wasn't impressed with but this one i thought was pretty good. I still have others to read though.
I hope you enjoy this one as much as i did

This is one of the better sequels that I've read. Very light and easy to read. Not too farfetched or troubling. The author remains fairly true to the characters and dialog of the original. Some situations have a bit of modern feel, but not unacceptable.

Slow to develop a plot...halfway through the book before anything happened except everyone getting married and producing children. There was a fair amount of anachronistic language...they did not use the phrase "laid back" in the 18th century, I am pretty sure. Also, while the cover promised a little spice, there was none. At. All. The naughtiest thing that happened were passionate kisses, and even those were not described. I read the whole book, but it was not engaging at all.

I've read about 75 pages and am so bored, I can't read another paragraph. I have all 3 books in this series and I feel like I should give it another try, don't know if I will though.
I skimmed the rest of the book and Darcy's drinking is a weird twist, and not at all necessary. Sure, a night out with the boys, now and again, is fine, but this reads like Darcy has a drinking problem.
The Kama Sutra is barely mentioned and certainly there were no conversations or descriptions to make even a maiden blush. Do not get the point of including it in the storyline. It should not be shocking that a newly married couple would have sex, nor should it be shocking that one or both of them would be inexperienced and seeking some advice, but honestly, that's just boring.
I'll review further if I decide to finish reading this book or series, but for now I'm setting it aside.
