It seems that all the action happens in the last 50% of these books. This one has even more death and betrayal than the last (which I didn't think was possible for a children's book.) However, it is nice to see Fireheart maturing as a warrior and as a tom. (I can't believe I wrote that.)

My daughter LOVES this entire series and says that each book gets better than the one before!
Terrific fantasy book for both children and adults. Enjoyed this book very much and did not have any problem reading any of the series even if they were read at times out of order.
